Wow, interesting. I love Cleopatra, as my review from a few months ago already went into. This is an interesting view of her, as a spoiled but bright child. Very quick read, Shaw packs a lot of information into a condensed space. I don’t particularly like reading play, I’d much rather see them performed. But this was okay, I guess because of the small cast and because they’re such familiar characters. I liked most of Shaw’s takes on history’s stories of Cleopatra. His take on the rolled-up rug is particularly clever!
