Powerful. Most definitely not about golf! I loved the images, I loved the way the story was told. But it ended too abruptly and seemed to be too laid out. Vance coming back in the end was too convenient, although I suppose he was supposed to be some sort of god. I’m not up on whichever religion this book was based on, but I loved reading about the excitement for young Hardy as he watched the match and was picked to be on the inside of almost everything. That enthusiasm and pure innocence was enough to gloss over the philosophical babble.
