I am currently working on my Master's Thesis, but I procrastinate by reading all the books I can! In the meantime, I have a good job with fun people.

Revolution in World Missions

Revolution in World Missions

Good personal stories raised my opinion of this book. But the author really seems to dislike... no, hate Americans. He has very little good to say about them. He talks about conventional missionaries not yielding any converts, yet had talked about his own experience as a national missionary, not having any conversions take root. So he's now sure that all these conversions are true? Or any of them? I just didn't like the authors tone in this book. The whole thing seemed to be "give money but stay out of our countries", "don't give any/as much money to other countries, Asia needs it more." I couldn't believe his story of the elderly woman turning off her phone to send them more money- dangerous! Living alone, she should have a phone for emergencies but he brushes that aside. I guess because elderly women in his country don't have phones, so why should she? Ridiculous. Yes, Americans can be self-centered. But we also donate more time and money that any other country and I'm offended by his constant charges of 'racism' when that's his attitude towards Americans.
